Tuesdays Tidbits

Just some Tidbits for Tuesday:)

  • Found a new favorite lipgloss color this weekend, very pretty alone or layered for more color

  • My sweet friend is coming over to take 6 month (where does the time go) pics of Ms Peanut and I am praying that she is a good sweet baby for the camera:)

  • I'm whipping this up for dessert for lunch and I cannot wait to taste it, Chelsea has some seriously fantastic recipes!

  • Two days until I get to see my oldest and dearest childhood friends!! Beach Reunion Twin Weekend!!
Don't Judge, this was the morning after "muffins" (twin on R) wedding and we were exhausted!

  • My Kindle broke yesterday, so Amazon cut me a major deal on a new one, but now I need a new case! (hubs thinks this is a ploy for extra shopping) Here are a few I'm loving

Happy Tuesday!

LETS GOOOOO....

....HOKIES!!!!!
I'm not going to lie, every year around this time, we start to get seriously pumped up for college football. My Hokies have had some ups and some downs ( Danny Coale certainly did catch that ball in the sugarbowl, but that's in the past).

On to the best part of football season, the outfits!!! Even if you cant make it to Blacksburg, we dress like were headed for Lane Stadium!

I will be the first to say that there is a serious lack of adorable attire for the ACC crowd, you SEC girls have it made!! I usually have to scrounge up some orange and throw some maroon accessories with it to make it fly, and on occasion I can scoop up a USC frock that appears maroon enough...example here

Here are some sweet Ideas I love for this season....

And some for Ms Peanut

Any of you know of any other great places to get "game day dresses" Please let me know!!!!!

Buzzzzz

I have been on the hunt for some new notecards and stationary, and I loove those with BEES! A while back Kate Spade had a cute collection with honey bees on them so if anyone knows where I can track those and/or something similar down I would greatly appreciate it.

Some Honey Bee Loving Inspiration on this HOT summer day.....

I haven't any idea where these photos all came from but I love them and if they are yours please send me your info so I may give proper credit where due.

Christmas in July

Everyday feels like Christmas with my sweet little peanut! But today it is about a zillion degrees out and I'm not willing to risk the trek to the pool with my little dolly so we will be celebrating "in the frosty (air conditioned) air"

Were Baking Cookies, for playgroup and some to stock the freezer!

I don't have a go to sugar/ jimmie (sprinkle)  cookie so I am hoping we like this one

Fingers crossed that White Christmas is playing at some point today. The sisters routine with Bing Crosby and Danny Kaye is absolutely on my list of all time top movie moments:)

How about indulging in a festive looking cocktail?? Don't mind if I do! This yummy white wine Sangria looks super refreshing!

If you are playing outside today an adorable "snowball" water balloon fight sounds like the best idea ever

And for those of you with access to the beach (I'm so J) and/or a sandbox..how about building a "Sandman" I love this idea!

How are you celebrating or staying cool this Christmas (in July)??

Weekend Re-wind

What a weekend!!

Friday we headed to Nordstrom at Tysons along with 8 billion other people in the dc metro area for the first day of the anniversary sale and it was totally nuts! We managed to arrive at lunchtime which couldn't have been more hectic if we actually planned for chaos. We were able to get hubs a few important work items and Ms Peanut some necessities before she totally went nuts and screamed for the next 11 hours straight so this happened at lunch (no I wasn't driving)

Friday Night was the roughest night of sleep since baby girl was born, we were up every hour on the hour. It may be more teeth, it may be rice cereal that we recently started, or it may just have been a bad day regardless I just felt so terrible and completely helpless.

Saturday the summer picnic for my MOMS group got rained out but was held inside (where the a/c made it seem like December!) so hubs and I went bleary eyed with our most yummy "side item/dessert" a totally addictive snack mix you can customize per season/holiday....It makes the best hostess gift packaged in a cute jar with a tag

Yummy Salty Sweet Snack Mix

1 large can of Salted Peanuts
1 can of Cashews whole or pieces
1 box of raisins
1 bag of m&ms
1 bag of candy corn

You will not be able to stop yourself its that addictive!!

Saturday Night my bestie had us over for a yummy dinner and drinks. It was so nice to catch up.  She seriously finds the best recipes on pinterest. She just signed me up for an account (another party I am way late too - I'm not even on facebook!) so I can beef up my weekly dinners and I am super excited.

We spent most of yesterday tidying up and grocery shopping with a lunch at potbelly - my fave! - stuck in between. We made it to evening mass last night which is always a great way to end the weekend and start the week.

Duh..I watched the bachelorette, and clearly made hubs watch it with me. I heart Jef, I did feel so sad for Arie. I feel most upset for myself seeing as I now have nothing to look forward to on Mondays!

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Advice Needed!!!!

"Keep your hands where I can see them lady!"

I experienced one of the most uncomfortable situations of my entire life yesterday. Ms peanut and I met hubs for lunch then he had some time run to target with us. An older woman , grandmotherly if you will, approached us and started to ooh and aah over ms peanut. I had her car seat in the buggy since I didn't need many items so she was pretty low down - not resting in the seat portion. This woman (stranger) began to talk to ms peanut and proceeded to squeeze her legs, calves and then ... wait for it.... Pick up her Sophie and make her dance... Before once more squeezing her feet (which she has in her mouth constantly) and sauntering off.

Hubs and I both stood there shell shocked, unable to speak or move. I came out of my unconscious state long enough to snatch Sophie before baby could touch her and quickly wipe down her legs and feet with baby wipes. I didn't know what to do. I'm a bit total germaphobe and the entire situation nearly caused a panic attack. What does one do in that situation - please help because I know I'm not the only one something like this has happened to. I've seen tags that hang from baby's car seats and strollers saying "don't touch" or "wash your hands" but I've never seen people using them.

Help a sister out because I may just drop dead if this happens again and I'm not prepared.

Im Out!!

Thank goodness the sale at Nordstrom starts tomorrow with triple points for cardholders - Wahoo!

Of....

this has been the only cleanser I have used in the past years to get all my makeup off with ease

Of my everyday eye pencil
brownborder by MAC, goes with every shadow shade and is not to dramatic for daytime

I change brands quite often but lately have been loving this bobbi formulation

After reading all about that icky junk they put in Johnson's stuff which causes cancer, I found this to be our best bet...plus she smells like honey after the bath!

Caffeine

Ms Peanut has two more teeth coming in and I have not slept more than an hour and a half straight at night for the past week...bring on the caffeine

Hair Bow Storage

Ms Peanut has had tons of hair since birth and I can already put a non- headband bow in:)

Do I go with the tutu version??

I am really liking a monogrammed plaque like this one..go figure!!

Any hair-bow storage ideas would be greatly appreciated
