Things to do this Thursday...
Pack for the beach
We feel really blessed our family has a home at the beach especially because we can leave clothes and things at the beginning of the summer and pack less throughout
Order a high chair for Ms Peanut - I am a little sad/nervous about starting her on real food, shes growing up so fast :( Melissa at for the love said she was really pleased with her space saver high chair and since we are super limited on space I think that's the way we will go plus this design is called "tea party" how sweet is that??!!

Order a feeding set or at least bowls and spoons...I cant find any with great reviews so any help/advice would be really appreciated

Order a pool float for Ms Peanut - I cannot seem to find one small enough to fit her petite frame

 Catch up on some Thank you notes, I thought people were generous when you got married but when you have a baby gifts and cards just continue to come - we feel so blessed

 Finish reading this...I'm soo close to the end and absolutely loving it!

Start brainstorming for Fathers day - it will be his first and hubs is flying home early that Sunday from a big golf trip to celebrate so Ms Peanut and I want to make it extra special for him:)

Memorial Day!

We're back! Only to turn around and head back to the beach on Friday! I heart summertime:)

What a memorial day trip to the beach! We had a blast and ms peanut certainly loves the beach as much as her mommy! We had great weather, and wonderful family to enjoy the long weekend with

Happy Hump Day!

Little Ms Peanut gave us quite the scare last night with crazy rapid breathing and an almost wheezy sound, all of which have seemed to go away but being the nervous nelly I am, I slept watched her sleep from the floor of her nursery last night needless to say I'm on my second cup of coffee and woofed down a cold chargrilled chick fil a sandwich at 5 am..

In other exciting news my makeup bag came and its a lot bigger than I thought it would be which is perfect! (please note the beautiful peonies from my moms garden in the background)

Because I have a bit of an addiction when it comes to cosmetics

Dear Target, If you stopped making so many adorable baby girl dresses for $7, I wouldn't have to buy so many!! How cute is this?? 

I wear lots of eye makeup and I have tried pretty much every eye makeup remover on the planet, My top pick would have to be this one from Dermalogica

A few months ago I made this  from Adelyn Stone and honest to goodness it works just as well if not better than any expensive removers do!

We are headed out to the beach tonight and I cannot wait to spend time with family and enjoy some down time, I'm going to attempt to "disconnect" a bit from blogger and twitter in order to "reconnect" with family all the new babies in our lives and obviously the sun and sand:) Hope you all have a fabulous Memorial Day Weekend!!

Blonde moment

Soo I wasn't born a natural blonde but I feel much more myself as one, bright, bubbly and cheerful

I've had my moments of "let's go brunette" and loved it for about a day, my hair got butchered in Raleigh I mean absolutely butchered with the worst hair color I've ever had at two separate "high end" salons I didn't even feel safe going to one for a single process color so after consulting two of my oldest friends on the matter I bought a box- yup at target- and colored my own hair , hubs was a bit horrified at my actions considering he knows how picky I am about my hair ( I found out I was preggo a few days later so maybe the hormones caused me to act like a lunatic) it was an awful shade of brunette / auburn then some strange ombré tone during the holidays my girlfriends were sweet not to mention it at my baby shower and I curled it constantly to help camouflage the situation

Three weeks after ms peanut was Born I headed to a well known dc area salon for highlights and it's been a long road but I think I'm finally getting back to my blond self:)

It takes a few trips to get it perfect with tone and coolness I prefer a cooler blonde rather than a warm tone.. So here are some pics I'm taking with me today ... Can't wait to celebrate the official start of summer with a new do

The Weekend

Friday was wonderful and the coffee to cocktails Bobbi Brown launch at Nordstrom was so much fun, getting to spend time with my peanut and my mom is such a blessing :) they had a dj in store and ms peanut loved dancing to flo rida's wild ones! I scooped up the following goodies and I'm super excited to have a more streamlined day to day, put on makeup as quickly as possible before running out the door to target, mom friendly routine

Hubs had to work a half day conference on Saturday so we were in town instead of at the beach. The weather was incredible so we headed out (poodle and all) to Great Falls, Virginia. The falls were amazing and our little pup was a total trooper despite the rocky terrain

Sunday was jam packed with errand running, target, trader joes, babies r us picking up lots of stuff for the beach - we are leaving Wednesday:) We headed to evening mass and ms peanut babbled the entire time!It was a wonderful weekend and with a short work week for hubs and a nice memorial day break right around the corner were all feeling excited!

Im a lucky lady (warning -photo bomb.)

I'm not going to lie, last week kind of felt like a mini Christmas. 3 year wedding anniversary and 1st Mothers day all wrapped into one:)
Hubs broke every rule and got me the leather TB Thora flops for our anniversary and I love them

Ms Peanut gifted me the Lilly critter earrings and My pup got me a Lilly Koozie:)

 Hubs went to multiple stores all which were out of the makeup bag, including the TB store in Tysons so he is ordering it this week for me..

We celebrated Mothers Day weekend at our Family beach house in Delaware and it was awesome!

We always start our mornings with coffee and a walk up and down the boardwalk, Peanut got to stay in her PJS. I was worried that the boards would make her fussy, but she loved it and smiled most of the way

Saturday was beautiful and we took her down to the beach for a few hours

 Then she fell back asleep

Sunday we went out for breakfast at my favorite little place at the beach The Royal treat, they serve the best breakfast in the mornings and then its an old fashioned ice cream parlor at night

 Do You love the shutters? The entire house is Pink, Turquoise and Purple - My mothers doing:)

Don't Judge my heinous appearance, clearly the tooth abscess was why my face and eyes were so swollen!

 Ms. Peanut has decided as of late that she is simply too grown up for her carseat, requiring hubs or I to eat with the Bjorn on or hold her while she stands up and take turns eating

Hubs took Monday off so we went to dinner Sunday night and headed to Funland (my old stomping ground) to play some games and look at all of the rides, Ms Peanut drifted off for a while - Totally overstimulated with all the sights and sounds

The landscaping at the beach house is covered in beautiful hydrangeas (mostly blue because of the salt content in the soil) Hubs got Ms Peanut a pink one for Easter and we planted it down at the beach, I cannot wait to see what color it turns, hopefully it stays pink. I want to take pictures of her next to it to see how much she grows! She was sleeping for her 1st picture but hopefully it will be meaningful to her someday:)

Put on a Little Makeup...

My Face is still  pretty swollen from my dental nightmare yesterday and I hope it goes down ASAP! Because my sweet mother scheduled appointments for us at Bobbi Brown at Nordstrom on Friday:) She always makes up appointments when they have makeup artists come in for new launches. Its kinda our thing, makeup, one might refer to us as makeup junkies or hoarders but we prefer junkies:)
My makeup suitcase bag has lots of different brands but mom and I tend to stick to MAC for eyes and lips & MAC and Bobbi for blushes, Bobbi for foundations, concealers & powders, we do have some Laura Mercier & Nars tossed in to round it all out, and a few little guys from Benefit that seem to address what other products cant ( Junkies, I told you)
I love Bobbi, have you ever seen her in an interview? Shes so cool, I think that's part of the reason Mom and I love her products so much

Illuminating Finish Powder Compact Foundation with SPF 12

 Its a powder but not super drying and it looks perfect with a sponge or a big fluffy brush, Most days running errands with Ms Peanut its this, some rose shimmer brick and mascara and out the door we go

If you had 40 bucks to buy one all purpose makeup item this should be it. I don't know what I did before I had these. I have rose and bronze and they are pretty much magic. Sweep them all over after a full makeup application, use as a highlight or a blush, heck Ive even used bronze on a naked face with mascara just to have a little "glow". They are beautiful and versatile


I cannot wait to try her new lippy's. I am super picky when it comes to lip stuff and I am partial to MAC for its long wearing abilities but I am excited to try these new sheer color lip glosses I think they will be super pretty for summer time:)
